How to use Traceroute

Enter a public hostname or IP address and run the tool after verification. The output follows the route visible from the test location.

Understanding the results

Read hops in order. Some routers do not return diagnostic replies, so missing hops do not establish packet loss for normal traffic. Routes and timing can differ from your device's connection.
